| View | Recently, we were privileged to commemorate the lives and the deaths of commrades fallen as the result of hostile action on Sunday, 17 July, 1864 in Fredicksburg, Missouri. These brave men were placed together in an unmarked grave where they have remained, unknown, since that time. The story of how this came about is a phenominal one of the dogged determiniation of those who now only reenact their brave deeds. |
| View | The Mahaffee reenactment held on April 16 - 17, 2005, at Olathe, Kansas for a better feel of just what it is that we do in the field. Our intent is to honor the valiant men who held our country together in it's greatest time of need. | View | Many of our members are active history hounds as well as avid reenactors. Many relics of our Nations great heritage have been saved from destruction by the sharp eye of those keenly interested in the past. |
| Upcoming Events | The 2nd Colorado Cavalry is an active organization of reenactors honoring those brave men who were determined to keep this country together in one of it's darkest hours. If you would like to attend one of our future activities, we'd be glad to have you. |
| View | The history of Colorado, Kansas and Missouri in Civil War days is enextricably linked to the men of the 2nd Colorado Cavalry. A bit of that history is presented here. | View | Some
people mistakenly believe that reenactment groups are just a bunch of
"Good Ol' Boys" playing cowboys and Indians. Nothing could be further
from the truth. Members of the 2nd Colorado Cavalry are dedicated
chroniclers of American history. Look at the "Guidelines for New
Recurits" to see just how rigorous it can be. |
| If you have viewed the "Guidelines for New Recruits" and believe you can live up to the requirements, you are invited to join. Whether you are man, woman, boy or girl, there is a place for you. The Civil War era was a time in our history when whole families faced huge challenges. Now, whole families help bring knowledge of that time to present day Americans. | Join Us | To join up, click on the link to the left and when the Acrobat reader opens the file, click on the "Print" button and make a printed copy of the form.
